The workers of JUI-F staged country-wide protest day and organised protest demonstrations in different cities against suicide attack on Deputy Chairman Senate, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri. The protesters were demanding immediate arrest and public hanging of those responsible for the incident.

In this connection, the JUI-F workers also staged a protest demo under the leadership of former Senator Haji Ghulam Ali. Others who participated in the demo were included Haji Abdul Jalil Jan and Maulana Mohammad Idrees. While similar protest demo in Mardan, the second largest city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was led by provincial secretary general, Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk.

Addressing the protestors, former Senator Haji Ghulam Ali and provincial secretary information JUI-F, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abdul Jalil Jan termed the attack a cowardice act and an attempt to damage the unity of Muslim ummah. They said that the history of JUI is full of sacrifices and such cowardice acts cannot create hurdles in the mission of the party. They said JUI-F is carrying efforts for peace in the country and earlier similar attacks were also made on their top leader Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman. The recent suicide attack on Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was a big conspiracy to target peace efforts in Pakistan. They said that Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are the worst lawless provinces.

They JUI-F activists demanded of the government to acknowledge its responsibility and bring actual facts behind the Mastung incident. Similar, protest demo was staged in front of Lahore Press Club (LPC) where Deputy Secretary General, Maulana Mohammad Amjad Khan led the protestors.

Addressing the protestors, Maulana Mohammad Amjad Khan demanded of the Chief Minister Balochistan, Sanaullah Zehri and his cabinet to tender resignation over the Mastung tragedy. He said that JUI-F is waging struggle for the enforcement of Islamic system and supremacy of parliament in the country.
